
Archives Data Specialist
The Walt Disney Company is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Archives Data Specialist to join our team and ensure our vast archives are properly stored and organized. This position requires an individual with an interest in archival history, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The Archives Data Specialist will be responsible for managing the cataloging, preservation, and digitization of the Company’s archives. We’re looking for a candidate who is eager to work with a variety of people, and who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role and a bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Archives, or History. Good computer skills, knowledge of archival databases, and familiarity with ArchivesSpace or an equivalent library and archival control system are a must. The successful candidate should also have excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Catalog, preserve, and digitize the Company’s archives.
- Maintain accurate archival databases to store and organize the Company’s archives.
- Work with a variety of people to ensure the timely and accurate completion of archival projects.
- Prioritize tasks to ensure all archival projects are completed by designated due dates.
- Utilize ArchivesSpace or an equivalent library and archival control system to store and manage archival information.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues related to the Company’s archives.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy and security of the Company’s archives.
- Monitor the progress of archival projects to ensure the timely completion of tasks.
- Maintain up-to-date records of the Company’s archives.
- Assess the condition of archival materials to determine the need for preservation or digitization.
