Job Description

The Washington Post is looking for an Instagram editor to develop and oversee our new climate account. We see this as an opportunity to connect our award-winning climate coverage with new audiences as part of an expansion that aims to make The Post the world’s preeminent news organization for coverage of the climate, environment and extreme weather. This editor must be able to articulate and implement a clear, platform-specific strategy that builds a committed audience for our climate journalism on Instagram. That includes finding distinct ways to amplify visual storytelling and accessible explanatory journalism that empowers people to understand the changing planet and their role in it. They will understand Instagram well and be excited to find compelling ways to highlight video, photography and graphics as well as The Post’s journalists and climate experts.

Job Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of experience managing a news organization’s social accounts, including Instagram

  • Climate journalism experience is a plus.
