  1. Develop and implement strategies for driving innovation and efficiency through cutting-edge technology.
  2. Lead and manage the Observability Platform & Tools team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to team members.
  3. Oversee the development and implementation of observability platforms and tools, ensuring they meet the needs of the organization.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize business needs and goals, and develop solutions to support them.
  5. Monitor and analyze system performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance reliability and scalability.
  6. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in Site Reliability Engineering, and proactively identify opportunities for improvement within the organization.
  7. Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, providing regular updates on the progress and impact of the Observability Platform & Tools team.
  8. Manage the budget and resources for the Observability Platform & Tools team, ensuring efficient utilization and cost-effectiveness.
  9. Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the team and across the organization, promoting a mindset of experimentation and learning.
  10. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, and maintain a strong focus on security and risk management.

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive Experience In Site Reliability Engineering And Observability Tools: Candidates For This Role Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Site Reliability Engineering Principles And Best Practices, As Well As A Strong Background In Developing And Implementing Observability Tools And Platforms.

  • Proficiency In Programming And Scripting Languages: A Successful Candidate Should Possess Strong Coding Skills In Languages Such As Python, Java, Or Go, As Well As Experience With Automation And Configuration Management Tools Like Puppet Or Ansible.

  • Knowledge Of Cloud Computing And Containerization: As Toyota Continues To Modernize Their Infrastructure, A Director Of Sre For Observability Platform & Tools Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Cloud Computing Technologies Such As Aws Or Azure, As Well As Experience With Containerization Tools Like Docker Or Kubernetes.

  • Leadership And Project Management Skills: This Role Requires Strong Leadership Skills To Manage A Team Of Engineers And Drive Projects To Completion. Candidates Should Have Previous Experience In A Leadership Role, As Well As Excellent Project Management Skills, To Ensure The Smooth Operation Of The Observability Platform And Tools.

  • Excellent Problem-Solving And Communication Skills: The Director Of Sre For Observability Platform & Tools Will Be Responsible For Identifying And Resolving Complex Technical Issues, As Well As Communicating With Cross-Functional Teams And Stakeholders. Strong Problem-Solving And Communication Skills Are Essential For Success In This Role.
