Clinical Lab Assistant

1. Prepare and process specimens for testing according to established procedures and protocols.
2. Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies, ensuring they are properly cleaned, calibrated, and stocked.
3. Conduct quality control checks on equipment and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
4. Assist with the accessioning and labeling of specimens, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
5. Perform data entry and accurately record test results in the laboratory information system.
6. Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
7. Communicate with healthcare providers and patients regarding specimen requirements and test results.
8. Assist with the training and supervision of new laboratory assistants.
9. Participate in continuing education and training to stay up-to-date on laboratory procedures and protocols.
10. Adhere to all regulatory and compliance guidelines, including HIPAA and OSHA.
11. Collaborate with other laboratory staff and departments to ensure efficient and timely testing.
12. Identify and troubleshoot any issues or discrepancies in testing processes.
13. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
14. Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures in the laboratory to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
15. Represent the laboratory and TriCore Reference Laboratories in a professional and positive manner.
