Job Description

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is seeking a qualified, experienced, and motivated individual to join our team as a Food Inspector. We are looking for a professional who is passionate about food safety and has a commitment to quality assurance. Candidates should have experience in related food safety and inspection roles, and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate for this role should have a keen eye for detail and the ability to quickly identify food safety violations and deficiencies. This position requires an individual who is organized, analytical, and able to work both independently and collaboratively. Additionally, successful applicants must have knowledge of regulations governing food safety and inspection procedures.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct inspections of food products and related facilities to ensure compliance with USDA regulations.
  2. Maintain accurate records of inspections and findings.
  3. Collect samples of food products for laboratory testing and analysis.
  4. Monitor and enforce government regulations regarding food safety and inspection procedures.
  5. Investigate complaints of food safety violations and take appropriate action.
  6. Provide technical guidance and assistance to food manufacturers and processors.
  7. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations by providing training to food industry personnel.
  8. Develop and implement food safety programs in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  9. Provide reports and updates to government agencies and other stakeholders.
  10. Monitor and audit food industry operations for compliance with government regulations.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Food Science Or Related Field

  • Minimum Of Three Years Experience In Food Safety

  • Knowledge Of Good Manufacturing Practices

  • Certification In Hazard Analysis And Critical Control Points (Haccp)

  • Knowledge Of Usda Regulations And Standards

  • Computer Proficiency
