
Forestry Technician
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is searching for an experienced Forestry Technician who will be responsible for providing professional and technical support to the Forest Service. Responsibilities: • Provide professional and technical support to the Forest Service in the areas of forestry, natural resource management, and related environmental principles and practices • Monitor and assess the condition of forest resources, including timber, wildlife, soils, and water • Develop and implement plans, programs, and projects to protect and improve the condition of forest resources • Identify and analyze potential threats to forest resources, develop strategies to mitigate such threats, and communicate such strategies to stakeholders • Collect and analyze data for the purpose of assessing the environmental impacts of forestry and natural resource management activities • Develop and present educational materials to diverse stakeholders on topics related to forestry and natural resource management • Coordinate with other Forest Service personnel to ensure that all activities are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including local, state, and federal agencies • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of forestry and natural resource management activities • Prepare reports and other written materials related to forestry and natural resource management activities
Ability To Work Independently
