
Microbiologist
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is looking for an innovative and highly motivated Microbiologist to join our dynamic team. We are seeking an individual with the expertise and experience to work with a wide range of microorganisms and research methods in our cutting-edge laboratory. The successful candidate for this position will possess a strong background in microbiology, excellent communication skills, and a passion for advancing knowledge in the field.The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in microbiology or a related field with coursework in biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, and biotechnology. A minimum of five years of laboratory experience in a research setting is also required. The successful candidate must also have a strong understanding of current research practices, experience with data analysis and data presentation, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team. The successful candidate must also have the ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Design and execute research plans on a wide range of microorganisms and research methods in the laboratory.
- Analyze data and present results in a clear and concise manner.
- Develop and implement new research protocols and techniques.
- Maintain records of laboratory activities and results.
- Collaborate with other researchers to develop and improve research strategies.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay up to date on the latest trends and research in the field of microbiology.
- Ensure laboratory safety protocols are followed.
