Job Description

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is seeking a Plant Physiologist to join our dynamic team. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to join us in our mission to protect and promote American agriculture. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Plant Science, Plant Biology, or a related field, along with several years of experience in plant physiology. In this role, you will have the opportunity to use your knowledge and skills to conduct experiments, analyze data, and collaborate with colleagues to conduct research that furthers the agency’s mission. Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct experiments related to plant physiology and analyze data.
  2. Develop research activities to further the agency’s mission.
  3. Collaborate with colleagues to promote knowledge and understanding of plant physiology.
  4. Provide technical advice and support to agency staff.
  5. Prepare reports and presentations to share research findings.
  6. Maintain accurate records of research activities.
  7. Present research findings at conferences and other events.
  8. Actively participate in plant physiology professional organizations.
  9. Develop and maintain relationships with industry professionals.
  10. Monitor and analyze changes in the plant physiology field.
