
Research Horticulturist
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is looking for an experienced and motivated Research Horticulturist to join our team. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in horticulture, plant science, or a related field, as well as at least five years of professional experience in horticulture and/or plant science. The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticultural research and excel in a team-oriented environment. The Research Horticulturist will be expected to identify, develop, and apply new and innovative approaches to horticultural research. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement innovative approaches to horticultural research.
- Monitor and analyze the results of horticultural research projects.
- Collaborate with other professionals to ensure successful completion of horticultural research projects.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of horticultural research.
- Identify and address potential challenges related to horticultural research.
- Maintain a working knowledge of best practices in the field of horticulture.
- Participate in conferences and other educational events to stay abreast of developments in the field of horticulture.
- Provide timely and accurate reports to the supervisor or other relevant personnel.
- Cultivate relationships with other horticulturists and industry professionals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
