
Personnel Security Specialist
The U.S. Department of Commerce is looking for an experienced and trustworthy Personnel Security Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated team of professionals and make a real difference in the security of our personnel. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks. The successful candidate will have a strong background in security, including knowledge of security principles and practices, and experience with personnel security compliance. Required qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in security, criminal justice, or a related field • Minimum 3 years of experience in personnel security • Expertise in personnel security principles, practices, and compliance • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and enforce personnel security compliance according to applicable laws and regulations.
- Implement security control measures to safeguard personnel information and assets.
- Conduct background checks and other security clearance investigations as required.
- Evaluate and assess personnel security risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Provide training and guidance to personnel on security policies and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain records of personnel security activities and investigations.
- Respond to inquiries from personnel and other stakeholders regarding security policies and procedures.
- Investigate and resolve personnel security incidents.
- Monitor personnel security systems to identify and address vulnerabilities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of personnel security best practices and emerging trends.
Or Related Field
Bachelor's Degree In Human Resources
Security
At Least Years Of Experience In Personnel Security Or Related Field
Working Knowledge Of Department Of Commerce Security Policies And Procedures
Ability To Interpret And Apply Federal Security Regulations And Standards
Demonstrated Experience In Conducting Security Clearance Investigations
Proficiency In Ms Office Suite
