Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) to join the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). In this role, you will be responsible for prosecuting criminal and civil cases brought on behalf of the United States. You must be a detail-oriented and passionate individual with excellent legal knowledge and strong problem-solving skills to be successful in this role. If you have a commitment to justice and public service, we want to hear from you!The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, be an active member of the bar in good standing, and possess at least four years of post-J.D. legal experience. Additionally, experience in the federal court system is preferred. Above all, the successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to excellence, professionalism, and integrity.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prosecute criminal and civil cases on behalf of the United States.
  2. Develop and execute effective strategies for legal cases.
  3. Research legal issues and apply relevant laws to each case.
  4. Prepare and present legal briefs and arguments in court.
  5. Stay abreast of legal developments and emerging trends.
  6. Maintain strong working relationships with law enforcement and other attorneys.
  7. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior attorneys and support staff.
  8. Adhere to ethical standards and the rules of professional responsibility.
  9. Ensure compliance with all DOJ regulations and procedures.
