Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Criminal Trial Attorney to join the U.S. Department of Justice. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of criminal trial law and will be passionate about delivering justice. We are looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills who is comfortable communicating both with colleagues and members of the public. The successful individual will be an experienced attorney with a proven track record of success in the courtroom, as well as the ability to effectively manage a busy caseload. Required Qualifications:• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school• Must be a member in good standing of a state bar• At least 5 years of experience in criminal trial law• Excellent communication, research, and writing skills• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks

Responsibilites:

  1. Represent the U.S. Department of Justice in criminal trial proceedings.
  2. Develop effective strategies for handling criminal trial cases.
  3. Research and analyze legal documents and evidence.
  4. Prepare and present legal arguments in court.
  5. Negotiate plea bargains with opposing counsel.
  6. Draft legal documents such as motions and briefs.
  7. Act as a liaison between the U.S. Department of Justice and clients.
  8. Provide legal advice to clients.
  9. Maintain professional relationships with court personnel.
  10. Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of criminal trial law.
