Job Description

The U.S. Department of Labor is looking for an experienced and qualified Safety & Occupational Health Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety and occupational health management systems and programs to ensure the safety of U.S. Department of Labor employees. To be successful in this position, you must have a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field, plus a minimum of five years of experience in safety and health management. You must also possess excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail. Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, implement, and maintain a safety and occupational health management system in accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor’s rules and regulations.
  2. Monitor and evaluate safety and health conditions in the workplace to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  3. Develop and implement strategies for reducing risks and hazards in the workplace.
  4. Provide training to workers on safety and health topics.
  5. Investigate and analyze accidents and incidents to determine root causes and develop corrective actions.
  6. Identify and analyze safety and health trends in the workplace.
  7. Collaborate with management to develop and implement safety and health programs and policies.
  8. Develop and maintain safety and health records and reports.
  9. Monitor and review safety and health performance metrics.
  10. Develop safety awareness campaigns and initiatives.
