
Diplomatic Security Foreign Service Special Agent

- Surveillance: Conduct surveillance and reconnaissance to gather intelligence and identify potential security threats.
- Protection: Provide protection to U.S. diplomats, dignitaries, and other high-level officials during official travel and events.
- Emergency response: Respond to emergency situations and provide security support during crisis situations.
- Training: Continuously train and maintain proficiency in firearms, defensive tactics, emergency medical procedures, and other necessary skills.
- Liaison: Serve as a liaison with local law enforcement, host country security officials, and other U.S. government agencies to coordinate security efforts.
- Risk assessment: Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for security improvements at U.S. facilities and residences.
- Intelligence gathering: Utilize intelligence sources and methods to gather information and assess potential threats.
- Travel: Be prepared to travel and work in various locations around the world, often in high-risk environments.
- Report writing: Write detailed reports on security incidents, investigations, and other relevant information.

Bachelor's Degree: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree From An Accredited University Is Required For The Diplomatic Security Foreign Service Special Agent Position. The Degree Can Be In Any Field, But Coursework In Criminal Justice, International Relations, Or A Related Field Is Preferred.
U.s. Citizenship: All Candidates Must Be U.s. Citizens And Be Able To Obtain And Maintain A Top Secret Security Clearance. Dual Citizens Or Those With Foreign Citizenship May Be Disqualified From The Position.
Physical Fitness: The Job Of A Diplomatic Security Foreign Service Special Agent Is Physically Demanding, And Candidates Must Be In Excellent Physical Condition. Applicants Must Pass A Physical Fitness Test That Includes Running, Sit-Ups, Push-Ups, And A 300-Meter Sprint.
Law Enforcement Or Military Experience: Prior Experience In Law Enforcement, Military, Or A Related Field Is Highly Desired For This Position. Candidates With Experience In Investigations, Counterterrorism, Or Protective Operations Will Have An Advantage.
Language Proficiency: The Ability To Speak, Read, And Write In A Foreign Language Is Highly Valued For This Position. Proficiency In A Critical Language, Such As Arabic, Chinese, Or Farsi, Is Especially Desirable. Candidates May Be Required To Pass A Language Proficiency Test As Part Of The Application Process.
