Job Description

The U.S. Department of the Treasury is looking for a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Legal Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for legal work and a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate must be able to provide excellent administrative and legal support to the Treasury’s legal team, while ensuring accurate and timely completion of all tasks.Qualifications for the position include: a Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field; at least two years of experience in providing administrative and legal support in a law office, government agency, or corporate environment; excellent written and verbal communication skills; and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate must also have strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide administrative and legal support to the Treasury’s legal team.
  2. Ensure accurate and timely completion of all tasks.
  3. Maintain strong organizational and time management skills.
  4. Multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Assist in research projects and investigations.
  6. Prepare documents, such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and memoranda.
  7. Draft, review, and revise legal documents.
  8. File documents in appropriate locations.
  9. Maintain client information and records.
  10. Assist attorneys in court proceedings.
