
Public Affairs Specialist
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Public Affairs Specialist to join the U.S. Department of the Treasury and help manage our external communications. This role will play an important part in shaping the public’s perception of the Department and its initiatives. The ideal candidate must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, knowledge of relevant public relations and media relations practices and a proven ability to effectively interact with external stakeholders. They must also have an eye for detail, a thorough understanding of the Treasury’s mission and the ability to think strategically. - Develop strategies and tactics to effectively communicate the Department's initiatives to external stakeholders.
- Monitor and analyze public perception of the Department's initiatives.
- Compose press releases, talking points, and other communications materials.
- Cultivate relationships with media outlets to ensure positive coverage of the Department.
- Provide counsel and support to senior management on public relations matters.
- Serve as a point of contact for media inquiries and coordinate responses.
- Develop and execute public affairs campaigns to highlight the Department's initiatives.
- Implement evaluation tactics to measure the effectiveness of public affairs initiatives.
- Research and maintain knowledge of current trends in public affairs and communications.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and legal requirements.
