Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated Civil Engineer to join the U.S. Department of Transportation. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of highways and other transportation-related infrastructure. You must have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field and at least three years of experience in the field. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is also required. The successful candidate will have excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, a collaborative work ethic, and strong communication abilities. You must also be detail-oriented and have a commitment to quality and safety. Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain highways and other transportation-related infrastructure.
  • Monitor and analyze project progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure completion on time and on budget.
  • Develop plans and designs that comply with safety and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure that all design requirements are met.
  • Monitor field conditions and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Identify and recommend solutions to problems related to transportation-related infrastructure.
  • Conduct research and develop reports on new technologies and engineering solutions.
  • Document progress and maintain records of project data and information.
  • Prepare cost estimates and assist with budgeting for projects.
  • Participate in meetings and collaborations with project stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols.
