Job Description

The U.S. Department of Transportation is looking for an experienced and ambitious Community Planner to help shape the future of our transportation systems. The ideal candidate will have a passion for urban planning and a commitment to making our cities and towns vibrant and sustainable.We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning or a related field, and at least three years of experience in the field of urban planning or transportation. We are seeking a creative thinker with excellent organizational and communication skills. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of land use and transportation planning principles and practices, and experience developing public engagement and outreach plans.This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our transportation systems and have a real impact on the communities we serve. We are looking for a Community Planner with the drive and enthusiasm to make a difference.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop public engagement and outreach plans for transportation systems.
  2. Develop land use and transportation planning principles and practices.
  3. Create innovative ideas and solutions for urban planning and transportation issues.
  4. Collaborate with stakeholders and community members to ensure the successful implementation of plans.
  5. Monitor and evaluate transportation projects to ensure they are in compliance with regulations and standards.
  6. Stay abreast of industry trends and developments to ensure the plans are up to date.
  7. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate planning initiatives to decision makers.
  8. Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders and community members.
