Job Description

The U.S. Department of Transportation seeks an experienced and highly motivated Grants Management Specialist to join our team. We are looking for an individual with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills to ensure that federal grants are managed in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of grants management principles and procedures, and have a track record of successful implementation of grants management initiatives. Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in public administration, finance, accounting, or a related field • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in grants management • Demonstrated knowledge of grants management principles and procedures • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to exercise independent judgment in analyzing and resolving complex grants management problems

Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor and assess grant performance to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
  2. Prepare grant applications, including project plans, budget requests, and performance measures.
  3. Manage grant activities and coordinate with other departments to ensure successful grant implementation.
  4. Develop and maintain internal processes and systems for grant management.
  5. Develop and coordinate training programs related to grants management.
  6. Develop and review grant policies and procedures.
  7. Review and analyze grant reports and financial statements.
  8. Respond to inquiries from grantees and other stakeholders.
  9. Manage pre- and post-award grant activities.
  10. Monitor and track grant funding and expiration dates.
