Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Health Technician – Phlebotomist to join our team at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. In this position, you will have the opportunity to provide essential support to our patient care team by drawing blood specimens for testing and performing other lab support duties. The right candidate must possess excellent phlebotomy skills, an ability to multi-task, and a compassionate demeanor. If you are looking to join a dedicated team of professionals and make a positive impact on our veteran patients, then this could be the perfect position for you.The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications:• High school diploma or equivalent• Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)• Minimum of one year of experience as a phlebotomist• Knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control procedures• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines• Excellent communication and customer service skills• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment• Ability to work independently as well as on a team• Ability to work in a non-climate controlled area• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
