Job Description

As a Public Affairs Manager for the Pacific Northwest Region, you will be responsible for managing Uber's government relations and third party engagement strategy. Work to ensure that the regulatory frameworks in the region enable the benefits of Uber for our customers and the cities we operate in. Develop and execute communications strategies to advance our key narratives. Engage with local government officials on prospective legislation and regulations. Work cross-functionally with Uber's Operations, Legal, Marketing and Social Impact teams. Manage a team of external lobbyists and communications consultants. Develop Uber's legislative and political strategy throughout the region on Uber Rides, Uber Eats, Uber Health, transit, etc. Prioritize and respond to inbound inquiries from reporters for Uber's fast-paced press cycles. Prepare, update, and prioritize messaging to respond to issues.

Job Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of relevant professional experience

  • Experience developing and executing a public relations plan and working directly with counterprints in print, digital and broadcast media.

  • Familiarity with the political and policy environment in the PNW is a plus

  • Ability to collaborate and influence across multiple levels of an organization

  • Working knowledge of the regional political environment and strong, existing relationships with elected officials
