  1. Perform blood draws and other phlebotomy procedures on patients of all ages, following established protocols and safety guidelines.
  2. Ensure accurate identification of patients and proper labeling of specimens.
  3. Prepare and maintain phlebotomy equipment and supplies, ensuring they are sterile and in working condition.
  4. Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy at all times.
  5. Provide exceptional customer service to patients, answering any questions they may have and addressing any concerns.
  6. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure timely and accurate delivery of specimens to the laboratory.
  7. Accurately document and record all phlebotomy procedures and patient information.
  8. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to prevent the spread of disease.
  9. Continuously monitor and maintain inventory of phlebotomy supplies and place orders as needed.
  10. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay updated on best practices and new techniques in phlebotomy.
  11. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  12. Handle difficult or emotional situations with empathy and professionalism.
  13. Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and supervisors.
  14. Follow all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  15. Collaborate with other phlebotomists to ensure efficient and effective workflow.
  16. Attend team meetings and provide input to improve processes and procedures.
  17. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
  18. Comply with all UCHealth policies and procedures.
  19. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Excellent Communication Skills And Ability To Work Well In A Team Environment.

  • Completion Of A Phlebotomy Technician Program From An Accredited Institution.

  • Current Nationally Recognized Phlebotomy Certification (E.g. Ascp Or Amt).

  • Minimum Of 1 Year Of Experience Working As A Phlebotomist In A Clinical Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Laboratory Procedures.
