  1. Collect blood samples from patients using proper techniques and equipment.
  2. Perform venipunctures and capillary sticks to obtain samples for laboratory testing.
  3. Monitor and verify patient identification to ensure accurate sample collection.
  4. Label and store specimens correctly to maintain sample integrity.
  5. Follow safety protocols and infection control measures to protect patients and staff.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of biohazardous materials.
  7. Utilize computer systems to accurately record and track patient information and test results.
  8. Provide excellent customer service to patients by explaining procedures and addressing any concerns.
  9. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure proper specimen collection and delivery.
  10. Keep up-to-date with industry standards and techniques to provide high-quality and efficient services.
  11. Perform quality control checks to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  12. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  13. Participate in training and continuing education opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  14. Assist in other laboratory tasks and duties as needed.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Phlebotomist At Uchealth Must Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education.

  • Phlebotomy Certification: Candidates For A Phlebotomist Position At Uchealth Must Have A Valid Phlebotomy Certification From An Accredited Institution.

  • Experience: At Least One Year Of Experience In A Clinical Or Hospital Setting Is Preferred For A Phlebotomist Role At Uchealth.
