
Physician Assistant Ortho Trauma

As a PA in this role, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive care to patients with orthopedic injuries and trauma. - Conduct thorough patient evaluations and assessments, including obtaining medical history, performing physical exams, and ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.
- Collaborate with the attending physician and other members of the healthcare team to develop and implement treatment plans for orthopedic injuries and trauma patients.
- Assist with surgical procedures, including pre-operative and post-operative care, wound management, and monitoring patient progress.
- Provide patient education on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
- Administer injections and medications as directed by the attending physician.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, including progress notes, treatment plans, and medication administration.
- Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition, consulting with the attending physician as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, addressing any questions or concerns and providing emotional support as needed.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate and ensure continuity of care for patients.
- Stay current on the latest research and advancements in the field of orthopedic trauma, and integrate new knowledge and techniques into patient care.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices for patient care.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect patient privacy at all times.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication among colleagues.
- Attend regular meetings and participate in continuing education opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
Current Certification By The National Commission On Certification Of Physician Assistants (Nccpa).
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team.
Bachelor's Degree In Physician Assistant Studies Or Related Field From An Accredited Program.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Physician Assistant In Orthopedic Or Trauma Setting.
Strong Clinical Knowledge And Skills In The Diagnosis And Treatment Of Orthopedic Injuries And Trauma.
