  1. Provide exceptional patient care to individuals in the Emergency Department, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological needs are met.
  2. Utilize advanced nursing skills and knowledge to assess, diagnose, and treat patients according to established protocols and standards of care.
  3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, monitoring patient response and making appropriate adjustments as needed.
  4. Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  5. Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in electronic medical records, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all HIPAA regulations.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers, providing education and support as needed.
  7. Act as a patient advocate, ensuring their needs and preferences are respected and addressed.
  8. Monitor patient vital signs and response to treatments, recognizing and responding to any changes in condition.
  9. Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff, adhering to infection control policies and procedures.
  10. Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and improve clinical skills and knowledge.
  11. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations regarding patient care.
  12. Remain calm and composed in high-stress situations, utilizing critical thinking skills to make quick and accurate decisions.
  13. Serve as a role model for professional nursing practice, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
  14. Demonstrate a commitment to quality improvement and patient satisfaction, actively seeking opportunities to improve processes and outcomes.
  15. Maintain a current RN license and fulfill all continuing education requirements.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Rn License In The State Of Colorado: A Valid And Current Rn License Is A Mandatory Qualification For Any Registered Nurse Position At Uchealth. This Ensures That The Nurse Is Legally Authorized To Practice Nursing In The State And Is Familiar With State-Specific Laws And Regulations.

  • Bsn Degree Or Higher: A Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Degree Or Higher Is Preferred For This Position. This Signifies That The Nurse Has Received A Comprehensive Education In Nursing And Is Equipped With The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Work In A Fast-Paced And High-Pressure Environment Like The Emergency Department.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In An Emergency Department: Due To The Demanding Nature Of The Job, Uchealth Requires A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In An Emergency Department. This Ensures That The Nurse Has The Necessary Clinical Experience And Is Familiar With Emergency Protocols And Procedures.

  • Bls And Acls Certifications: Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certifications Are Mandatory For This Position. These Certifications Indicate That The Nurse Is Trained In Life-Saving Techniques And Can Provide Prompt And Effective Care In Emergency Situations.

  • Excellent Communication And Critical Thinking Skills: Working In The Emergency Department Requires Strong Communication And Critical Thinking Skills. The Nurse Must Be Able To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals, And Make Quick And Accurate Decisions In High-Stress Situations.
