  1. Provide specialized care for patients with complex wound, ostomy, and continence needs.
  2. Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans.
  3. Administer treatments and medications as prescribed by physicians.
  4. Monitor and document patient progress and respond to any changes in condition.
  5. Educate patients and their families on wound, ostomy, and continence care.
  6. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
  7. Stay up-to-date on the latest evidence-based practices and incorporate them into patient care.
  8. Maintain accurate and thorough patient records.
  9. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Degree: A Bsn Is The Minimum Educational Requirement For A Registered Nurse Wound Ostomy Position At Uchealth. This Degree Ensures That The Nurse Has A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory, Evidence-Based Practice, And Clinical Skills.

  • Certification In Wound, Ostomy, And Continence Nursing (Wocn): Uchealth Requires That All Registered Nurse Wound Ostomy Candidates Hold A Current Wocn Certification. This Specialized Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Expertise In Wound, Ostomy, And Continence Care, Which Is Essential For This Role.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Acute Care Experience: Uchealth Prefers Candidates With At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Registered Nurse In An Acute Care Setting. This Experience Provides A Solid Foundation In General Nursing Skills And Clinical Decision-Making, Which Are Crucial For Managing Complex Wound, Ostomy, And Continence Cases.

  • Strong Communication And Patient Education Skills: As A Registered Nurse Wound Ostomy, Effective Communication Is Vital For Working With Patients, Families, And Interdisciplinary Teams.
