  1. Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by providing necessary instruments and supplies in a timely and efficient manner.
  2. Maintain a sterile and organized surgical environment to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
  3. Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and have necessary instruments and equipment ready at all times.
  4. Assist with patient positioning and preparation for surgery.
  5. Perform surgical tasks such as suturing, tissue handling, and hemostasis under the direction of the surgeon.
  6. Communicate effectively with the surgical team to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  7. Monitor and maintain surgical equipment and supplies, and report any issues or malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
  8. Follow infection control and safety protocols to prevent the spread of infection and ensure a safe working environment.
  9. Provide post-operative care to patients, including dressing changes, wound care, and patient education.
  10. Continuously update knowledge and skills through participation in educational programs and attending conferences.
  11. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
  12. Maintain accurate and detailed records of surgical procedures and patient outcomes.
  13. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  14. Demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional patient care and promoting a positive patient experience.
  15. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Surgical First Assistant (Csfa) Credential From The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa).

  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience As A Surgical First Assistant In A Hospital Or Surgical Center Setting.

  • Proficiency In A Wide Range Of Surgical Procedures, Including General, Orthopedic, Cardiovascular, And Neurologic Surgeries.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Anatomy, Physiology, And Surgical Techniques, As Well As Infection Control Procedures.

  • Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Assist Surgeons And Collaborate With Other Members Of The Surgical Team.
