  1. Develop and implement an innovative and dynamic artistic project that aligns with the mission and values of UMass Amherst.
  2. Conduct in-depth research on current and emerging trends in art and academia, and integrate this knowledge into the artistic project.
  3. Collaborate with faculty and students across various departments to foster interdisciplinary learning and exchange of ideas.
  4. Engage with the wider community through public exhibitions, workshops, and talks to promote the artistic project and its research findings.
  5. Work closely with the university's research team to design and execute experiments, surveys, and other data-gathering methods to support the project's research goals.
  6. Mentor and guide undergraduate and graduate students who are involved in the project, providing opportunities for them to develop their skills and contribute to the research.
  7. Maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity in all aspects of the project, including adhering to ethical guidelines and ensuring proper use of resources.
  8. Continuously assess and evaluate the progress of the project, making necessary adjustments to ensure its success and impact.
  9. Represent UMass Amherst at conferences, events, and other professional gatherings related to the project and its research.
  10. Stay updated on current developments and advancements in the fields of art and research, and incorporate new ideas and techniques into the project.

Job Qualifications
  • A Master's Or Doctoral Degree In Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Or A Related Field.

  • A Strong Portfolio Of Artwork Showcasing Skill And Creativity In Diverse Mediums Or Techniques.

  • Previous Experience As An Artist-In-Residence Or Research Fellow In A University Setting.

  • Demonstrated Ability To Collaborate With Faculty, Students, And Community Members On Artistic Projects And Research.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of Contemporary Art Practices And Theories, As Well As A Commitment To Diversity And Inclusion In The Arts.
