- Develop and implement an innovative and dynamic artistic project that aligns with the mission and values of UMass Amherst.
- Conduct in-depth research on current and emerging trends in art and academia, and integrate this knowledge into the artistic project.
- Collaborate with faculty and students across various departments to foster interdisciplinary learning and exchange of ideas.
- Engage with the wider community through public exhibitions, workshops, and talks to promote the artistic project and its research findings.
- Work closely with the university's research team to design and execute experiments, surveys, and other data-gathering methods to support the project's research goals.
- Mentor and guide undergraduate and graduate students who are involved in the project, providing opportunities for them to develop their skills and contribute to the research.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity in all aspects of the project, including adhering to ethical guidelines and ensuring proper use of resources.
- Continuously assess and evaluate the progress of the project, making necessary adjustments to ensure its success and impact.
- Represent UMass Amherst at conferences, events, and other professional gatherings related to the project and its research.
- Stay updated on current developments and advancements in the fields of art and research, and incorporate new ideas and techniques into the project.
A Master's Or Doctoral Degree In Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Or A Related Field.
A Strong Portfolio Of Artwork Showcasing Skill And Creativity In Diverse Mediums Or Techniques.
Previous Experience As An Artist-In-Residence Or Research Fellow In A University Setting.
Demonstrated Ability To Collaborate With Faculty, Students, And Community Members On Artistic Projects And Research.
Knowledge And Understanding Of Contemporary Art Practices And Theories, As Well As A Commitment To Diversity And Inclusion In The Arts.
