
Gender & Development Manager
The main purpose of this job is to ensure the implementation of the Gender Policy, Strategy and Accountability Framework of ECW by integrating and targeting gender through all aspects of ECW’s programmatic and operational contexts. This position will also provide support to ECW’s overall country investments and monitoring, working with closely with different workstreams and Secretariat staff, including the Chief of Education, colleagues in Quality Education, Advocacy, Monitoring and Evaluation, Resource Mobilization and Governance. This will involve supporting the development of sound education programming in crisis situations which delivers on on ECW’s commitment for gender responsive results.
Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.
Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible professional experience in emergency contexts and/or protracted crises
Familiarity with finance, economics, statistics a strong advantage.
Excellent understanding of gender and inequity issues and in the application of gender analysis to policy and planning in relation to education in emergencies and protracted crises.
