- Operate and maintain specialized equipment, including locomotives, cranes, and other heavy machinery.
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment by following all safety procedures and protocols.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Monitor equipment gauges and controls to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and address equipment malfunctions and issues.
- Collaborate with other team members to coordinate equipment usage and schedules.
- Track and document equipment usage and maintenance records.

Valid Commercial Driver's License (Cdl): A Cdl Is Required To Operate The Large And Complex Equipment Used By Union Pacific Railroad, Such As Locomotives And Heavy Machinery.
Experience Operating Heavy Equipment: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience Operating Heavy Equipment, Preferably In A Railroad Or Construction Setting. This Experience Should Include The Operation Of Large Machinery And Equipment, As Well As Knowledge Of Safety Protocols And Procedures.
Mechanical Aptitude: Union Pacific Railroad Equipment Operators Are Responsible For Troubleshooting And Performing Basic Maintenance On Their Equipment. Candidates Should Have A Strong Mechanical Aptitude And The Ability To Identify And Address Mechanical Issues.
Physical Fitness And Agility: Operating Heavy Equipment Requires Physical Strength, Stamina, And Agility. Candidates Should Be Able To Lift And Move Heavy Objects, Climb Ladders And Stairs, And Stand For Long Periods Of Time.
