  1. Operate and maintain specialized equipment, including locomotives, cranes, and other heavy machinery.
  2. Ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment by following all safety procedures and protocols.
  3. Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  4. Monitor equipment gauges and controls to ensure optimal performance.
  5. Troubleshoot and address equipment malfunctions and issues.
  6. Collaborate with other team members to coordinate equipment usage and schedules.
  7. Track and document equipment usage and maintenance records.
  8. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding equipment operations.
  9. Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.
  10. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  11. Continuously strive to improve equipment operation processes and procedures.
  12. Attend training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  13. Adhere to all state and federal regulations pertaining to equipment operation.
  14. Follow all safety regulations and protocols to ensure the safety of oneself and others.

Job Qualifications
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (Cdl): A Cdl Is Required To Operate The Large And Complex Equipment Used By Union Pacific Railroad, Such As Locomotives And Heavy Machinery.

  • Experience Operating Heavy Equipment: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience Operating Heavy Equipment, Preferably In A Railroad Or Construction Setting. This Experience Should Include The Operation Of Large Machinery And Equipment, As Well As Knowledge Of Safety Protocols And Procedures.

  • Mechanical Aptitude: Union Pacific Railroad Equipment Operators Are Responsible For Troubleshooting And Performing Basic Maintenance On Their Equipment. Candidates Should Have A Strong Mechanical Aptitude And The Ability To Identify And Address Mechanical Issues.

  • Physical Fitness And Agility: Operating Heavy Equipment Requires Physical Strength, Stamina, And Agility. Candidates Should Be Able To Lift And Move Heavy Objects, Climb Ladders And Stairs, And Stand For Long Periods Of Time.

  • Safety Mindset: Safety Is A Top Priority At Union Pacific Railroad, And Equipment Operators Must Have A Strong Safety Mindset. Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Safety Protocols And Procedures And Be Committed To Following Them At All Times.
