- Operate state-of-the-art locomotives to transport freight across the country.
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the locomotive, following all safety protocols and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the locomotive and report any maintenance or repairs needed.
- Communicate effectively with the train crew and dispatchers to ensure on-time and safe delivery of freight.
- Monitor and control train speed, track conditions, and other factors that may affect the safe operation of the locomotive.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any mechanical or technical issues that may arise during the trip.
- Adhere to Union Pacific Railroad policies and procedures, including Federal Railroad Administration regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of train movements, delays, and other important information.
- Continuously monitor and assess the performance of the locomotive, making adjustments as needed to ensure optimal efficiency.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to improve operations and solve any issues that may arise.
- Attend and participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Represent Union Pacific Railroad in a professional and positive manner at all times.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture within the team and company.

A Valid Commercial Driver's License (Cdl) With A Hazardous Materials Endorsement.
Completion Of A Certified Locomotive Engineer Training Program.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Locomotive Engineer.
Ability To Pass A Background Check And Drug Test.
Strong Knowledge Of Federal Railroad Administration (Fra) Regulations And Safety Standards.
