
Locomotive Engineer

- Operate and control a locomotive, adhering to all safety regulations and company procedures.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of locomotives to ensure proper functioning and identify any maintenance needs.
- Monitor train speed, track conditions, and signals to ensure safe and timely transportation.
- Communicate with other members of the train crew, including conductors and brakemen, to ensure smooth operation of the train.
- Maintain accurate records of train movements, fuel usage, and any incidents or delays.
- Troubleshoot and respond to any equipment malfunctions or emergencies that may arise during a trip.
- Adhere to schedules and meet deadlines to ensure on-time delivery of goods and passengers.
- Continuously monitor and adjust locomotive controls to maintain optimal performance and fuel efficiency.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing any concerns or issues raised by passengers or clients.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, as well as federal and state regulations.
- Attend regular safety training and stay updated on industry best practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the locomotive cab and equipment.
- Serve as a role model for other employees by demonstrating a strong work ethic, professionalism, and dedication to safety.
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to identify and report any potential safety hazards or maintenance needs.
- Continuously strive to improve performance and efficiency, while also upholding the company's commitment to excellence.
Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent.
Completion Of A Formal Locomotive Engineer Training Program.
Valid Federal Railroad Administration (Fra) Locomotive Engineer Certification.
At Least 2 Years Of Experience Operating Locomotives.
Strong Understanding Of Safety Regulations And Ability To Adhere To Strict Safety Protocols.
