  1. Operate and control a locomotive, adhering to all safety regulations and company procedures.
  2. Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of locomotives to ensure proper functioning and identify any maintenance needs.
  3. Monitor train speed, track conditions, and signals to ensure safe and timely transportation.
  4. Communicate with other members of the train crew, including conductors and brakemen, to ensure smooth operation of the train.
  5. Maintain accurate records of train movements, fuel usage, and any incidents or delays.
  6. Troubleshoot and respond to any equipment malfunctions or emergencies that may arise during a trip.
  7. Adhere to schedules and meet deadlines to ensure on-time delivery of goods and passengers.
  8. Continuously monitor and adjust locomotive controls to maintain optimal performance and fuel efficiency.
  9. Provide excellent customer service by addressing any concerns or issues raised by passengers or clients.
  10. Comply with all company policies and procedures, as well as federal and state regulations.
  11. Attend regular safety training and stay updated on industry best practices.
  12. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the locomotive cab and equipment.
  13. Serve as a role model for other employees by demonstrating a strong work ethic, professionalism, and dedication to safety.
  14. Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to identify and report any potential safety hazards or maintenance needs.
  15. Continuously strive to improve performance and efficiency, while also upholding the company's commitment to excellence.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent.

  • Completion Of A Formal Locomotive Engineer Training Program.

  • Valid Federal Railroad Administration (Fra) Locomotive Engineer Certification.

  • At Least 2 Years Of Experience Operating Locomotives.

  • Strong Understanding Of Safety Regulations And Ability To Adhere To Strict Safety Protocols.
