High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Locomotive Engineer Job At Union Pacific Railroad Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Demonstrates A Basic Level Of Education And Understanding Required To Perform The Job Duties.
Valid Commercial Driver's License (Cdl): A Locomotive Engineer Must Possess A Valid Cdl With Appropriate Endorsements For The Type Of Locomotive They Will Be Operating. This Ensures The Engineer Is Trained And Qualified To Safely Operate Large And Heavy Vehicles.
Prior Experience In Railroad Operations: Union Pacific Railroad Prefers Applicants With Prior Experience In Railroad Operations, Such As Working As A Conductor Or Brakeman. This Demonstrates A Basic Understanding Of Railroad Operations And Safety Procedures.
