  1. Operate locomotive trains in a safe and efficient manner according to company and industry guidelines.
  2. Maintain a thorough understanding of train routes, schedules, and safety procedures.
  3. Monitor and control train speed, brake systems, and other critical functions.
  4. Communicate effectively with other team members and personnel to ensure the smooth and safe operation of trains.
  5. Conduct pre-trip inspections and perform routine maintenance checks on locomotives.
  6. Respond quickly and appropriately to any emergencies or malfunctions that may occur during a trip.
  7. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations and operating rules.
  8. Keep accurate records of train movements, including delays, arrivals, and departures.
  9. Collaborate with other departments and personnel as needed to ensure efficient and timely transportation services.
  10. Continuously monitor and assess train operations to identify potential hazards or issues and take appropriate corrective actions.
  11. Train and mentor new Locomotive Engineers and provide guidance and support to other team members as needed.
  12. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technology advancements in the railroad industry.
  13. Represent the company in a professional and positive manner at all times.
  14. Maintain a high level of accountability for the safe and efficient operation of trains.
  15. Participate in ongoing training and development programs to improve skills and knowledge.

Job Qualifications
  • Must Possess A Valid Federal Railroad Administration (Fra) Locomotive Engineer Certification.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience Operating Locomotives, Preferably With A Class I Railroad.

  • Strong Understanding Of Railroad Operations, Including Safety Regulations, Signals, And Switching Procedures.

  • Excellent Problem-Solving And Decision-Making Skills To Handle Unexpected Situations And Emergencies.

  • Ability To Work A Flexible Schedule, Including Nights, Weekends, And Holidays, And Be Willing To Travel As Needed.
