- Maintain and repair signals and communication equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation of the railroad system.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance checks on signaling equipment to identify and address any issues.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with signaling equipment, and make necessary repairs to prevent delays or disruptions in train operations.
- Install and test new signaling equipment and upgrades, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while working on or near active railroad tracks.
- Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repairs performed on signaling equipment.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to coordinate maintenance schedules and resolve any issues that may impact train operations.
- Continuously monitor and assess the performance of signaling systems, making recommendations for improvements or upgrades as needed.
- Stay up-to-date on industry developments, advancements, and best practices related to signaling equipment and maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members to report progress, issues, and concerns related to signaling maintenance.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Signal Maintenance And Repair In A Railroad Environment.
Knowledge Of Federal Regulations And Safety Standards Related To Railroad Signal Equipment.
Familiarity With Railroad Signal Systems And Components, Including Relays, Switches, And Circuitry.
Ability To Read And Interpret Signal Diagrams, Blueprints, And Schematics.
Strong Troubleshooting And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Diagnose And Resolve Signal System Issues Quickly And Efficiently.
