  1. Maintain and repair railway signals to ensure the safety and efficiency of Union Pacific Railroad operations.
  2. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with railway signals to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  3. Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on railway signals to ensure proper functioning and prevent potential malfunctions.
  4. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while working on or near live railway tracks to maintain a safe work environment.
  5. Collaborate with fellow team members to complete tasks and projects efficiently and effectively.
  6. Communicate with supervisors and other departments to report any issues or concerns with railway signals and coordinate repairs and maintenance.
  7. Keep accurate records of work performed, including maintenance logs and inspection reports.
  8. Stay updated on industry regulations and standards related to railway signals and incorporate them into daily work practices.
  9. Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in signal maintenance and repair.
  10. Demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to safety at all times while representing Union Pacific Railroad.

  • Knowledge Of Railroad Signal Systems: A Signal Maintainer At Union Pacific Railroad Should Possess A Deep Understanding Of Railroad Signal Systems, Including The Principles Of Operation, Maintenance, And Troubleshooting.

  • Electrical And Mechanical Skills: The Job Requires Strong Skills In Both Electrical And Mechanical Systems, As Signal Maintainers Are Responsible For Maintaining And Repairing Various Equipment, Such As Track Circuits, Switch Machines, And Signal Lights.

  • Experience With Safety Protocols: Union Pacific Railroad Places A High Emphasis On Safety, And A Signal Maintainer Should Have Experience Working In A Safety-Sensitive Environment, Following Safety Protocols And Procedures At All Times.
