
Track Maintenance Worker

- Inspect and maintain railroad tracks to ensure they are safe and in compliance with company standards and regulations
- Perform routine track maintenance tasks such as replacing damaged ties, repairing track switches, and removing debris from the tracks
- Operate specialized equipment such as track tamper, rail saw, and spike puller to complete maintenance tasks
- Identify and report any potential safety hazards or track defects to supervisors
- Respond to emergency situations and work efficiently to resolve any track-related issues
- Coordinate with other team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while working on or near railroad tracks
- Keep accurate records of maintenance work performed and report any completed tasks to higher management
- Attend training programs and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills related to track maintenance
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including properly storing tools and equipment after use
- Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth operation of the railroad system.
Knowledge Of Railroad Safety Regulations: A Track Maintenance Worker At Union Pacific Railroad Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of All Safety Regulations Related To Railroad Operations, Including Those Set By The Federal Railroad Administration (Fra).
Physical Fitness: This Job Requires Individuals To Perform Physically Demanding Tasks Such As Lifting Heavy Objects, Walking Long Distances, And Working In All Weather Conditions. Therefore, Candidates Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Meet The Physical Demands Of The Job.
Experience With Track Maintenance: Candidates Should Have Prior Experience In Track Maintenance, Including Knowledge Of Various Tools And Equipment Used In Track Maintenance And Repair.
