High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For Most Track Maintenance Worker Positions At Union Pacific Is A High School Diploma Or Ged. This Demonstrates A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge Necessary For The Job.
Physical Fitness: Track Maintenance Workers Perform Physically Demanding Tasks Such As Lifting Heavy Equipment, Walking On Uneven Terrain, And Working In All Types Of Weather Conditions. Therefore, Candidates Must Be Physically Fit And Able To Meet The Physical Demands Of The Job.
Mechanical Aptitude: Track Maintenance Workers Are Responsible For Maintaining And Repairing Railroad Tracks And Equipment. Therefore, They Must Possess A Basic Understanding Of Mechanical Principles And Be Able To Use Various Hand And Power Tools.
