- Develop and maintain transportation plans for the movement of freight across North America through our rail network.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
- Analyze shipment data and make recommendations for optimizing transportation routes and schedules.
- Monitor and track transportation costs and work towards reducing them.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, and customers to resolve any logistical issues.
- Utilize software systems and tools to manage transportation data and make informed decisions.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement in transportation processes.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to provide updates on transportation plans and resolve any issues.
- Participate in strategic planning and forecasting to support the company's growth and expansion goals.
- Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols to uphold Union Pacific Railroad's standards.
- Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies and processes to enhance transportation efficiency.
- Train and mentor junior transportation planners to develop their skills and knowledge.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to transportation planning activities.
- Represent Union Pacific Railroad at industry events and conferences to promote our transportation services.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Transportation Planning, Preferably In The Railroad Industry.
Bachelor's Degree In Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Or Related Field.
Knowledge Of Transportation Regulations, Policies, And Procedures.
Proficiency In Gis And Other Relevant Software.
Strong Communication And Analytical Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Various Stakeholders.
