Job Description

Join our team at United Natural Foods-UNFI as an Accounts Payable Representative and play a crucial role in our financial operations. As an Accounts Payable Representative, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing vendor invoices and payments, and maintaining strong relationships with our vendors. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles and excellent communication skills.   1. Process vendor invoices and payments accurately and in a timely manner.
  2. Maintain and update vendor records and information.
  3. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.
  4. Communicate with vendors to resolve payment issues and maintain strong relationships.
  5. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  6. Understand and adhere to accounting principles and standards.
  7. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve any invoice or payment discrepancies.
  8. Monitor and track accounts payable transactions and report any issues to management.
  9. Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes.
  10. Maintain organized and accurate accounts payable files and documentation.
  11. Assist in the development and implementation of accounts payable procedures and processes.
  12. Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
  13. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and changes in accounting regulations.
  14. Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency and streamline processes.
  15. Act as a key team member in achieving department and company goals.

Job Qualifications
  • Strong Understanding Of Accounting Principles: This Role Requires A Thorough Understanding Of Basic Accounting Principles, Such As Debits And Credits, Account Reconciliation, And Journal Entries.

  • Attention To Detail: As An Accounts Payable Representative, You Will Be Responsible For Accurately Reviewing And Processing A High Volume Of Invoices And Payments. Attention To Detail Is Crucial To Ensure Accuracy And Avoid Costly Errors.

  • Knowledge Of Accounts Payable Processes: Candidates Should Have Experience With Accounts Payable Processes, Including Invoice Processing, Vendor Management, And Payment Processing. Familiarity With Accounting Software, Such As Sap Or Oracle, Is Also Preferred.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: This Role Involves Frequent Communication With Internal And External Stakeholders, Including Vendors And Other Departments Within The Company. The Ability To Communicate Clearly And Professionally Is Essential.

  • Organizational And Time Management Skills: Accounts Payable Representatives Are Responsible For Managing A Large Workload And Meeting Strict Deadlines. Strong Organizational And Time Management Skills Are Necessary To Prioritize Tasks And Meet Expectations.
