
Director, Contracts and Acquisitions Management
Are you an experienced and motivated leader ready to join the United States Department of Education as our Director of Contracts and Acquisitions Management? We are searching for an individual with a passion for public service and a commitment to excellence. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing the contracts and acquisitions management efforts for the department, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, and leading a team of contract managers. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in acquisition and contracts management, with 5 years of management experience. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Acquisition, Supply Chain Management or related field is also required. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Experience with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and knowledge of the U.S. Department of Education's mission, programs, and operations is highly desirable. Responsibilities:
- Direct the contracts and acquisitions management efforts for the department, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Lead a team of contract managers in the process of contract and acquisition management.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
- Have a comprehensive understanding of the U.S. Department of Education's mission, programs, and operations.
- Provide guidance and direction for the team in order to meet organizational objectives.
- Monitor and review team performance and develop strategies to improve efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders in order to ensure successful outcomes.
- Develop policies and procedures for the acquisition and contracting process.
- Analyze and resolve complex issues related to contract and acquisition management.
