Job Description

The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Community Planning and Development Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing consultation services to state and local governments, and coordinating with other federal government agencies regarding their statutory responsibilities for community planning and development. We’re looking for a strong communicator with a passion for public service to help us build sustainable, healthy, and thriving communities. To be successful in this role, you will need a bachelor's degree in urban planning, public administration, or a related field, as well as several years of experience in community planning and development. Knowledge of federal regulations governing community planning and development, as well as experience in working with a variety of stakeholders, is also highly desirable. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide consultation services to state and local governments on community planning and development
  2. Coordinate with other federal government agencies regarding their statutory responsibilities for community planning and development
  3. Build sustainable, healthy, and thriving communities
  4. Monitor and enforce federal regulations governing community planning and development
  5. Develop programs and initiatives to promote community development
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders in the community
  7. Develop and implement strategies for community engagement
  8. Monitor the implementation of community planning and development projects
  9. Prepare and present reports and presentations on community planning and development
  10. Research and analyze trends in urban planning and development
