SECURITY I - EMT/FIREFIGHTER

- Respond to and handle emergency situations, including medical emergencies and fires, in a timely and effective manner.
- Provide medical care and assistance to employees and visitors as an EMT.
- Perform firefighting duties, including extinguishing fires and conducting fire safety inspections.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures related to security and emergency response.
- Monitor and patrol company facilities to ensure the safety and security of employees, visitors, and property.
- Communicate with emergency services and provide accurate and detailed information when responding to incidents.
- Conduct investigations and gather evidence related to security incidents and emergencies.
- Collaborate with other members of the security team to develop and implement emergency response plans.
- Stay informed about new developments in emergency response and security procedures, and implement changes as necessary.
- Maintain documentation and records related to security and emergency response activities.
- Train and educate employees on emergency procedures and best practices for maintaining a safe work environment.
- Liaise with local law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency services to ensure effective communication and coordination during emergencies.
- Follow all safety protocols and adhere to company and industry regulations.
- Remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
- Continuously assess and identify potential security risks and take proactive measures to prevent them.
Valid Emt-B Or Higher Certification - This Position Requires A Candidate To Have A Valid Emt Certification, With A Preference For Emt-B Or Higher. This Ensures The Candidate Is Trained And Able To Provide Emergency Medical Care In Potentially Hazardous Situations.
Firefighter Certification - In Addition To Emt Training, The Candidate Should Also Have A Firefighter Certification. This Includes Knowledge Of Fire Suppression Techniques, Hazardous Materials Handling, And Rescue Operations.
Previous Experience In Security Or Emergency Response - Candidates With Prior Experience In Security Or Emergency Response Roles Will Be Preferred. This Demonstrates Their Ability To Handle High-Stress Situations And Make Quick Decisions In Emergency Scenarios.
Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification - Bls Certification Is Essential For Providing Emergency Medical Care In The Field. Candidates Should Have A Current Bls Certification From A Recognized Organization Such As The American Heart Association.
Physical Fitness And Agility - Working As A Security I - Emt/Firefighter At United States Steel Requires A High Level Of Physical Fitness And Agility. Candidates Should Be Able To Pass A Physical Fitness Test And Demonstrate Their Ability To Perform Physically Demanding Tasks.
