  1. Perform all locksmith duties, including installation, repair, and maintenance of locks, keys, and related hardware.
  2. Conduct routine inspections and assessments of campus buildings to identify any potential security risks and address them accordingly.
  3. Respond promptly to emergency lockouts and other urgent locksmith requests.
  4. Collaborate with other campus security personnel to develop and implement effective security measures and protocols.
  5. Maintain accurate records of all locksmith activities, including work orders, repairs, and inventory.
  6. Keep up-to-date with the latest locksmith techniques and technologies to ensure the most efficient and effective services.
  7. Communicate effectively with campus staff and students to provide guidance and assistance regarding lock and key issues.
  8. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others.
  9. Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to locks and keys.
  10. Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner.
  11. Assist with key cutting and duplication as needed.
  12. Maintain confidentiality and security of all keys and access codes.
  13. Adhere to university policies and regulations regarding locksmith activities.
  14. Train and supervise any apprentice locksmiths or assistants.
  15. Collaborate with external vendors and contractors when necessary for larger projects or repairs.

Job Qualifications

  • Experience In Locksmithing: A Qualified Candidate For A Locksmith Job At The University Of Arkansas Should Have A Strong Background In Locksmithing, With Previous Experience In Repairing And Maintaining Locks, Keys, And Other Security Systems.

  • Knowledge Of University Security Protocols: The Candidate Should Be Familiar With The Specific Security Protocols And Procedures Of The University Of Arkansas, Including Key Control And Access Control Systems.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: A Locksmith Must Be Able To Communicate Effectively With Faculty, Staff, And Students To Understand Their Security Needs And Provide Appropriate Solutions.

  • Technical Proficiency: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Various Types Of Locks And Security Systems, As Well As The Ability To Use Specialized Tools And Equipment For Installation And Repair.

  • Trustworthiness And Reliability: As A Locksmith At A University, The Candidate Will Have Access To Sensitive Areas And Must Be Trustworthy And Reliable In Handling Security Systems And Maintaining Confidentiality. A Clean Background Check And References From Previous Employers May Be Required.
