- Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives for the Career Services department in alignment with the university's mission and goals.
- Oversee and manage a team of career counselors, advisors, and staff to effectively deliver career services to students.
- Provide guidance and direction to the team in developing and delivering innovative programs and services to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Foster relationships with employers, alumni, and other key stakeholders to create and maintain a robust network of job and internship opportunities for students.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with academic departments and other campus resources to integrate career development into the overall student experience.
- Stay current on industry trends, labor market data, and best practices in career development to continuously enhance services and support for students.
- Provide individual career counseling and coaching to students, including resume and cover letter review, job search strategies, and interview preparation.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and deliver career-related workshops, events, and programs.
- Ensure compliance with all ethical and legal standards in career services, including maintaining confidentiality and adhering to NACE and other professional standards.
- Develop and maintain budgetary and statistical reports to track and evaluate the effectiveness of career services programs and initiatives.
- Participate in university committees and task forces related to career services, student success, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Encourage and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of career services and foster an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students.
- Represent the university and the Career Services department at conferences, events, and meetings to enhance the university's reputation and build relationships with external partners.
- Collaborate with other career services professionals and organizations to share best practices and stay informed on industry trends.
- Act as a liaison between the Career Services department and other university departments, such as alumni relations, development, and academic advising.
- Actively participate in professional development activities to continuously enhance knowledge and skills in career development
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Build Relationships With Students, Alumni, Employers, And Other Stakeholders.
A Minimum Of 7 Years Of Experience In Career Services, Preferably At A University Or Other Higher Education Institution.
Master’s Degree In Counseling, Higher Education Administration, Or A Related Field.
Proven Leadership Skills, With Experience Managing A Team And Developing And Implementing Strategic Plans.
Strong Knowledge Of Current Career Development Theories, Trends, And Best Practices.
