Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clin Lab Sci/Spec, Per Diem for our Blood Bank department. As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the diagnosis and treatment of our patients by performing a variety of laboratory tests and ensuring the accuracy and quality of our blood products.   1. Perform a variety of laboratory tests in the Blood Bank department to ensure accurate and timely diagnosis and treatment of patients.
  2. Follow standard operating procedures and safety protocols to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  3. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of blood products, ensuring proper storage and handling to maintain product quality.
  4. Conduct quality control checks and troubleshoot any issues to maintain accuracy and precision of test results.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care and contribute to research initiatives.
  6. Utilize advanced laboratory equipment and technology to perform tests and analyze data.
  7. Stay up-to-date with current medical practices, procedures, and regulations related to laboratory testing.
  8. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all tests performed, including patient information and test results.
  9. Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and colleagues to provide exceptional customer service and ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
  10. Participate in continuous education and training opportunities to improve skills and stay current with advancements in the field of clinical laboratory science.
  11. Contribute to the development and implementation of new laboratory protocols and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  12. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  13. Take ownership of tasks and proactively seek solutions to any issues that may arise in the laboratory.
  14. Act as a mentor and resource for new laboratory staff, providing guidance and support as needed.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science Or A Related Field.

  • Certification As A Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls) Or Medical Technologist (Mt) From A Recognized Accrediting Agency.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Clinical Laboratory, With A Focus On Blood Bank And Transfusion Medicine.

  • Knowledge Of Blood Bank Procedures And Protocols, Including Abo And Rh Typing, Antibody Screening, And Transfusion Reactions.

  • Strong Attention To Detail And Accuracy, With The Ability To Work Independently And Make Critical Decisions In A Fast-Paced Environment.
