Job Description

The University of California, San Diego is searching for an experienced and passionate communications professional to join our team as the Director of Communications. The successful candidate will be an innovative thinker who is comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and has a proven track record of success in communications. The Director of Communications will be a strategic leader with a big-picture perspective and an eye for detail, leading the development and implementation of effective communications strategies.The ideal candidate is a skilled writer, communicator, and relationship builder with a minimum of five years of experience in strategic marketing, public relations, and/or communications. They will have a deep understanding of the challenges associated with a complex and diverse environment such as a university and a commitment to collaboration. They must possess a strong sense of empathy and be able to identify and communicate with a variety of different audiences. The ideal candidate will also have a passion for the mission of the University of California, San Diego and be able to effectively communicate its values and goals.
