Job Description

The University of California, San Diego is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Grant Writer to join our team and help further our mission of providing excellence in teaching, research, and patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail; a passion for grant writing and the ability to work independently and in a team environment; and a commitment to the highest standards of writing, research, and compliance.The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching and identifying grant opportunities, preparing comprehensive grant proposals, and managing the grant writing process from start to finish. This includes developing project plans, researching and preparing grant budgets, and maintaining grant records. The successful candidate must have a demonstrated track record of writing successful grant proposals and possess strong project management, organizational, and communication skills. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a related field such as English, Journalism, Communications, or Public Relations; at least two years of grant writing experience; and a thorough understanding of grant proposal development and grant compliance. Experience in a university setting is preferred.
