Job Description

Welcome to the College of Engineering at the University of Delaware! We are currently seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Computing Support Specialist to join our team. As the Computing Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing technical support to our faculty, staff, and students in all areas of computing. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a passion for technology and a strong desire to help others. If you have a strong technical background and excellent communication skills, we would love to have you join our team.

  1. Provide technical support to faculty, staff, and students in all areas of computing.
  2. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
  3. Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and peripherals.
  4. Train and assist users with utilizing technology and software.
  5. Keep up-to-date with the latest technology trends and updates.
  6. Collaborate with other team members to improve and maintain computing systems.
  7. Monitor and maintain the security and integrity of computer systems.
  8. Communicate effectively with users to understand their needs and resolve technical issues.
  9. Document and maintain records of technical support requests and resolutions.
  10. Participate in the development and implementation of new technology initiatives.
  11. Conduct regular maintenance and updates on computer systems.
  12. Provide timely and efficient resolution to technical problems.
  13. Manage and prioritize multiple support requests in a fast-paced environment.
  14. Assist in the procurement and setup of new computer equipment.
  15. Continuously improve and enhance the computing support services offered by the College of Engineering.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Information Technology, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In Providing Technical Support For Hardware, Software, And Network Systems.

  • Strong Troubleshooting Skills And Ability To Diagnose And Resolve Complex Technical Issues.

  • Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills To Effectively Assist Faculty, Staff, And Students With Their Technology Needs.

  • Knowledge Of Various Operating Systems, Software Applications, And Network Protocols Commonly Used In A University Setting.
