- Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of necessary supplies and equipment for animal care.
- Stay updated on industry standards and best practices for animal care and implement them within the university's facilities.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment among the animal care team.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to animal care technicians.
- Assist in the recruitment and hiring process for new animal care staff.
- Collaborate with other departments within the university to promote animal welfare and education.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations related to animal care and research.
- Resolve any conflicts or issues that may arise within the animal care team.
Bachelor's Degree In Animal Science, Veterinary Technology, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Animal Care And Husbandry, Preferably In A Research Or Educational Setting.
Knowledge Of Animal Welfare Regulations And Standards, Including Usda And Aaalac Guidelines.
Previous Experience In Supervising And Training Animal Care Staff.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Researchers, Faculty, And Other Animal Care Staff.
